COLOMBO (News 1st); The Sri Lankan Government has decided to restrict imports in the short term under three separate methods.The Department of Government Information said that the Sri Lankan Government decided to restrict imports for a short period to manage the present economic situation.In the first method, taxes will be imposed on selected imports.In the second method, it would be made mandatory to obtain permits for selected imports.In the third method, it would be made mandatory to obtain permits for selected imports, and such products will be subject to taxes.The import restriction gazette will be published by the government on Wednesday (9).

Extra Rs. 20/- per 1 US$ of Workers’ Remittances this festive season

COVID-19 on Thursday and an outbreak at another ward at Cape Breton Regional Hospital.In a release, the province said a man in his 50s and a man in his 70s, both in the Eastern Zone, have died.“This is an extremely sad time for their families and friends. I want to extend my deepest condolences to all those who are grieving the loss of their loved one,” said Premier Tim Houston in the release.The province noted that data on deaths come from Panorama, public health’s disease information system, and are only entered into the system after the death is identified to be COVID-related, “which can take days or weeks to investigate and report.” COVID-19: Nova Scotia reporting 3 more deaths “Data on deaths is reflective of virus activity in the past, at the point of infection, and not the situation today, at the point of reporting,” the release said.The province also reported 10 people who have been admitted to hospital since the last update and five discharges.

COVID-19: Hospitalizations in Nova Scotia see slight decline

COVID-19 in Nova Scotia declined slightly since Friday, the province announced on Saturday.In an abbreviated weekend news release, the province said there were 79 people in hospital who were admitted due to COVID-19 and were receiving specialized care in a designated unit. That’s down by three since Friday.However, another three people were in intensive care, for a total of 14.
