An NHS nurse was called a "virus spreader" and even spat at the face by a thug in the latest attack against healthcare workers during the coronavirus pandemic.

Amy Hall, who works as a care manager at Verina Daly Care, was wearing her uniform when she was targeted by a "middle-aged man" outside a Lidl in Waterlooville, Hampshire.

The 28-year-old detailed the incident in an ITV interview, saying: "I was walking through the car park, a middle-aged man, [he was] trying to spit at me, didn't get me. "But he tried to spit at me and said that I was a virus spreader, which obviously shocked me a little bit.
