The number of Covid-19 vaccination doses administered will pass the 750,000 mark this weekend as the rollout continues in GP-operated vaccination hubs at Munster Technological University in Cork and Merlin Park in Galway.
In addition, the five free walk-in centres for testing asymptomatic people in Dublin and Tullamore will continue to operate.
A total of 3,850 people attended for tests at those centres over the past two days. On Friday, 20 further Covid-related deaths were notified to the Department of Health along with 584 new cases of the disease.
This week, approximately 76,000 doses had been administered by Thursday. Included in that figure are about 23,000 doses of AstraZeneca held back over the European Medicines Agency safety check
