Oscar Pistorius has been freed on parole after killing his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp more than a decade ago.The former Olympian is now home after being released from a South African prison, with the parole being granted in November.
He was found guilty of the manslaughter of his model girlfriend on Valentine's Day in 2013.The 37-year-old claimed he thought Ms Steenkamp was an intruder and said shooting her four times was a mistake.
He served eight-and-a-half years behind bars and is due to leave the cell adapted for his needs at Atteridgeville Correctional Centre in Pretoria.The Mirror reports he will be housed at his uncle Arnold's £2million 12-bed, three-storey mansion in Pretoria’s exclusive Waterkloof suburb.
Steenkamp’s mother, June Steenkamp, said in a statement that she had accepted Pistorius’ parole as part of South African law.She said: “Has there been justice for Reeva?
