May the Force be “Jojo.” Taika Waititi, the director and screenwriter of 2019’s “Jojo Rabbit,” will direct a new “Star Wars” film, Disney announced Monday.

The plan is for the yet untitled flick to be shown in theaters. But with not only the release of films, but also production schedules upended by the coronavirus pandemic, the studio did not specify a release date, or even a year.

Waititi is no wookie of the year. The 2020 Oscar winner for best best adapted screenplay previously directed the season finale of the “Star Wars” TV series “The Mandalorian,” and also voiced a droid in the third episode of the popular Disney+ show.
