Partick Thistle’s players are now counting the cost of their relegation to League One through massive wage cuts.Ian McCall’s first-team squad who are still under contract for next season have been informed by letter in recent days that their money will be down, with some of the cuts as high as 40 or 50 per cent.It means several of the Jags squad will now lose several hundred pounds-a-week off their wages.A lot of the top players’ contracts had clauses for cuts if they were relegated, while others players have get-out clauses if the club were relegated. The Thistle board are now looking to try to get back up after feeling unjust about their demotion from the second tier.
