Paul O'Grady has confirmed that he is self-isolating due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Radio 2 presenter has stepped away from hosting duties for the time being, as he has underlying health conditions that make him vulnerable should he catch the virus.
Stand-in host Paddy O'Connell told listeners that Paul was "fit as a flea" but was taking NHS advice to stay safe due to his heart condition. "I'm one of these people who falls into the category of 'underlying health problems' and that's because I've had heart attacks," Paul explained in a voicemail message to Paddy. "I've been strongly advised to self-isolate, so that's exactly what I'm doing.
