BENGALURU : The Karnataka government on Friday said that it had withdrawn an earlier order, that allowed the distribution of free food for the poor at Indira Canteens--a state sponsored subsidised food venture-- in the city due to alleged mismanagement, quality and quantity issues.
The order adds more uncertainty on how the government proposes to feed the large number of poor people in the city who find themselves with no money or food during the period of the lockdown that has been in place for nearly two weeks to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus.
