Primary schools in Wigan have been 'strongly advised' to delay the reopening of classes amid fears over the rates of coronavirus.
While the government has pushed ahead with its plan to see schools reopen to specific year groups this week, it has been a staggered start across Greater Manchester.
In some areas it is still half term, so children will return next week, while other local authorities say it will be mid-June before they start their phased return.
Those that have opened aren't necessarily taking all of the priority year groups back at once and some have already said it's doubtful they will have them all back before the end of the academic year.
