All of Tameside’s public swimming pools have closed over coronvirus concerns with users' direct debit payments to be frozen for three months.
Active Tameside, the charity that runs the borough’s five swimming pools, has announced it has closed all its venues for the foreseeable future to prevent unnecessary social contact and the spread of Covid-19.
Its eight gyms, four thermals spas, six cafes and three creche facilities across all its centres are also now shut. The centres are Active Ashton, Active iTRAIN in Dukinfield, Active Medlock, Active Etherow in Broadbottom, Active Copley, Active Hyde, Active Ken Ward, Active Oxford Park and the new multi-million Tameside Wellness Centre which only opened this month.
