Dublin City Council has appealed to everyone not to drop used latex gloves and masks on the ground and to dispose of them safely.
They say parts of the city have seen an increase in the amount of these being littered by people during the Covid-19 crisis.
Lord Mayor of Dublin, Tom Brabazon, says people need to be mindful about how they dispose of used latex gloves and masks as they could contain the virus.
He said it's critical to do whatever we can to stop the spread of the virus and thereby save lives. He said this includes being responsible for the safe disposal of face masks and gloves.
