Owners of a local cafe in the US have been left speechless after realising a generous customer left a hefty tip. Due to the coronavirus outbreak, The North Carolina-based restaurant - known to locals as The Famous Toastery - was shut down, however it opened its doors back up to customers on Saturday, May 25.
And in a rare turn of events, staff at the eatery were shocked to see two first-time customers left a bountiful gratuity of $US1000 ($AU1530) on their breakfast bill, which was originally valued at $43.31.
According to the waitress who spotted the sweet gesture, the couple's act kindness was only noticed once the happy customers had left the premises.
