A rise in new coronavirus cases among people living in terraced houses has sparked fears of a fresh lockdown in Blackburn. Today a health boss warned that a "rising tide" has been found in areas with a high number of terraced houses where multiple people live.
The outbreak in Blackburn with Darwen is centred on the area's Asian community, Professor Dominic Harrison, the local authority's director of public health, said.
He warned that the area could follow Leicester back into lockdown in just two weeks if this trend is not reversed. It is one of 20 areas named as being at risk of a fresh outbreak.
