Riyad Mahrez believes Manchester City have a golden chance to break their Champions League duck this season. City had put one foot in the quarter-finals before the season was suspended due to the Covid-19 crisis in March.
Pep Guardiola ’s men produced a stunning 2-1 win over Real Madrid in the Bernabeu to take charge of the last 16 tie. They are red hot favourites to go through to the last eight if the competition succeeds in starting up again in August.
City have never reached the final and have not even made it to the last four since Guardiola took charge in 2016. But with holders Liverpool already knocked out and Barcelona nowhere near their peak, City are now favourites to go on and conquer Europe for the first time in their history.
