PHILADELPHIA - Police are investigating after four men broke into a home and assaulted a man in Northeast Philadelphia. The incident happened at approximately 2:30 a.m. on the 6900 block of Horrocks Street. Police say four unknown men, two of which were armed, forced entry through the basement door. They then assaulted a 41-year-old man and took approximately $28,000 ($10,000 in coins, $10,000 in checks, and $8,000 in cash) in various currency from the man.

PHILADELPHIA - A man has lost his life after a shooting in Southwest Philadelphia. The shooting happened around 11:30 p.m. Friday on the 6000 block of Woodland Avenue. Police say the 29-year-old man was shot once in the left armpit inside a Nissan Altima.

Police in Windsor, Ont., commenced their enforcement Saturday of an injunction granted on Friday by an Ontario judge to allow for protesters at the Ambassador Bridge to be cleared out. Sean O’Shea has more details on how the enforcement proceeded, with protesters closest to the bridge seen moving back peacefully, while others drove their vehicles away from the area.

The rescue search for Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean and her son Gideon has been suspended, with the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and her son presumed dead.

The Coast Guard is searching for two canoers after they were last seen ten miles south of Annapolis, Maryland, in Chesapeake Bay Thursday evening. 

Robert F. Kennedy‘s granddaughter Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, 40, and her 8-year-old son Gideon were have died. The mother and son drowned after they were reported missing following a canoeing accident in Chesapeake Bay, Virginia on April 2, according to the New York Post. Maeve and Gideon’s bodies were discovered after an intensive search that began later Thursday night, April 2, about 24 hours after they went missing according to authorities.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Authorities were searching for the daughter and a grandson of former Maryland Lt. Gov. Kathleen Kennedy Townsend on Friday after a canoe they were paddling in the Chesapeake Bay didn’t return to shore.

A Kennedy family spokesperson confirmed Friday that two missing people last seen in a canoe off Chesapeake Bay Thursday evening are Maeve Kennedy McKean, 41, and her 8-year-old son, Gideon. Kennedy McKean is the granddaughter of Robert F. Kennedy and daughter of Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, the former Maryland lieutenant governor. «At this time our family asks for privacy and that everyone keep Maeve and Gideon in their prayers,» said a statement from a family spokesman. Maryland Governor Larry Hogan also confirmed their identities at the start of his coronavirus press conference Friday, and said an «intensive search» was underway.

Maeve Kennedy Townsend McKean, 40, the granddaughter of the late Senator Robert F. Kennedy, went missing with her young son, Gideon, on Thursday (Apr. 2) afternoon, her husband, David McKean, told the Washington Post. The family was visiting the property owned by her mother, Kathleen Kennedy Townsend, in Shady Side, Maryland, on Chesapeake Bay. Around p.m. EST, Maeve and Gideon had “popped into a canoe” to go out and retrieve a ball that had landed into the waters. “They just got farther out than they could handle and couldn’t get back in,” he said. A spokesperson for the U.S. Coast Guard told the Post that the wind in that part of the bay was around 26 knots – about 30 mph – with waves between two to three feet high.
