Prince Charles will be made a “King in all but name” in less than 365 days after the Queen turned 94 this week, according to long-running reports.
Heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales, 71, will take the royal reigns when Her Majesty turns 95 years old on April 21, 2021, according to the claim.
The Queen would trigger the “Regency Act” and make Charles a “Prince Regent” under the supposed plan – effectively handing him power.
The Prince would take over the Queen’s roles, while Her Majesty would – on paper – remain monarch, following her vow to stay on the throne to her death.
