Rylan Clark left his fans 'welling up' with a message before being seen ringing in the New Year at a party with his mum Linda after a 'tough year'.

The BBC Radio 2 host appeared on his last show of the year on Saturday and it wouldn't have been right if he hadn't got Linda involved.

Listeners of Rylan's show and his followers on social media were worried back in September when he suddenly had to take a break from work before it was revealed that Linda had undergone surgery after "quite a bad fall" whilst on holiday in Spain with Rylan.

She was said to have broken her arm and her leg in the incident during her first holiday abroad in years. Linda, who also has Crohn's disease, has since been working on a full recovery and appeared to reference the accident on her son's Radio 2 show, Rylan On Saturday over the weekend.
