Scots Cameron Hospital hit by major Covid-19 outbreak as 21 test positive with stroke rehab ward shut to new admissions

Covid-19 outbreak was identified.A total of 21 patients and staff linked to the Letham Ward at Cameron Hospital in Windygates, Fife, have caught the virus in recent days.NHS Fife confirmed that new admissions have been suspended whilst strict cleaning protocols remain in place.Additional measures have also been introduced to help stop the virus spreading while some staff have been asked to self-isolate.The affected ward offers rehabilitation for people who have suffered a stroke.A statement from the health board said: “NHS Fife can confirm that Letham Ward at Cameron Hospital in Windygates is currently closed to new admissions following a cluster of COVID-19 cases.“A total of 21 staff and patients linked to Letham Ward have been confirmed.
