Scottish councils have agreed on a date to reopen recycling centres across the country, according to COSLA.The gates to dumps across Scotland were closed when lockdown began in March.

During lockdown East Ayrshire Council have reported a surge in fly-tipping. But today COSLA - the national association of local authorities - announced that leaders have agreed to plan for the reopening of tips.COSLA environment and economy spokesperson Steven Heddle said that council are aiming to open recycling centres on June 1.Mr Heddle said: “The reopening of sites depends on receiving assurance that this will not negatively impact the COVID-19 infection rate and will be consistent with national travel advice.“There will also be local considerations
