Serious concerns raised over handling of Covid-19 outbreak at Scots care homes

Covid-19 outbreak. The organisation are required to submit reports to the Scottish Parliament every two weeks under coronavirus legislation.

The reports must outline the Care Inspectorate’s findings of any checks carried out during the period.Inspections are focused on homes’ responses to the pandemic and issues such as infection prevention and control.The first report, which covered the period of May 27 to June 5, found generally good practice in the 13 care homes inspected but did raise concerns about infection control and personal protective equipment (PPE).

Following this, a serious concern letter was issued to Newcarron Court Care Home in Falkirk, underlining six requirements the service must meet.
