Covid vaccine is given, any significant adverse effect is unlikely, but we need more scrutiny," Dr Paul said in a media statement on Thursday. His statement has come after reports emerged that 20 people were given two different coronavirus jabs for their first and second doses in a village in Uttar Pradesh. They were given a shot of Covishield (AstraZeneca) in early April, but then got the Bharat Biotech's Covaxin as part of their second dose in May.However, Dr Paul added that the protocol is clear that both doses given should be of the same vaccine. "This matter should be investigated," he said noting the Uttar Pradesh's case.He further said that India should prepare to give one crore Covid-19 jabs a day which will be possible in a few weeks.
