Simon Cowell donates £1.3 million to help struggling charities amid coronavirus pandemic

Many charities have been hit hard by the coronavirus pandemic, but music mogul Simon Cowell has pledged to donate a whopping £1.3 million to those that are struggling the most.

The X Factor judge, 60, revealed that he was “devastated to learn” that charities including ones such as Shooting Star Children’s hospice, which he is Vice President of, were having difficulty during this time due to the virus outbreak “having a huge knock-on effect on thousands of small charities across the UK.” Writing in his The Sun column, the star shared that he would be covering the £500,000 deficit faced by Shooting Star while also continuing his “on-going pledges”.
