A Scots MSP has told how her world fell apart after the sudden death of her 20-year-old son who tragically passed away on holiday.
Clare Haughey was enjoying a day out at the Merchant City Festival in Glasgow with her husband Paul when she received the devastating phone call on July 27 last year.
The Rutherglen SNP MSP was told by her youngest son Michael that the police were at her door and needed to speak to her urgently in person, Holyrood Magazine reports.
The 53-year-old said the next 20 to 25 minutes were the ‘longest of her life’ before officers arrived and told her that her son Charlie had passed away suddenly in Amsterdam.
