Twelve years after Stephenie Meyer shelved her cult favorite vampire romance series “Twilight,” its saga is seeing a new dawn.
Meyer, 46, has announced the release date for a new “Twilight” book, “Midnight Sun,” a prequel which will take diehard fans on a journey through the perspective of vampire Edward Cullen, instead of the series’ usual protagonist, Bella Cullen (née Swan).
The “Midnight Sun” release date is Aug. 4. The news is sure to delight an army of readers who made Meyer one of the best-selling authors of all time.
Likewise, the “Twilight” movies, which launched actors Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart to fame, grossed $3.3 billion worldwide.
