The family of a woman who died at a train station following a long battle with mental illness has raised concerns over her discharge from a psychiatric ward a month earlier. Rushon Drayton, 23 (Chester County District Attorney's Office)CHESTER COUNTY - A 23-year-old janitor at Valley Forge Middle School has been accused of sexually abusing two teenage girls.Rushon Drayton, known as "Shawn," is charged with multiple counts of institutional sexual assault, indecent assault of a person under 16, unlawful contact with a minor, corruption of minors, statutory sexual assault and other charges.The Chester County District Attorney's Office says Drayton "preyed upon vulnerable middle schoolers" by sending inappropriate and sexual text messages to students age 14 and 15. He became friendly with the students over several months by handing out candy four times a week, one student said.The mother of the first victim, a 14-year-old girl, reportedly found screenshots of inappropriate messages on her daughter’s phone.

Cheltenham Township Police investigate a drive-by shooting that injured one person. CHELTENHAM TOWNSHIP, Pa. - Cheltenham Township Police are investigating a drive-by shooting that injured one man.Officials say police responded to the shooting on Ogontz Avenue, in Cheltenham Township, Saturday, around 4:45 in the afternoon. A Jeep was in the northbound lane of Ogontz Avenue when male occupants of a dark-colored Ford Taurus began firing at the Jeep, multiple times, hitting a person inside, according to authorities.The wounded person was rushed to Abington Hospital in serious condition, though officials say that person is expected to survive.Cheltenham Township Police found the Taurus a short time later and took three people into custody.

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection shared a picture of a Troxler Model 3340 portable nuclear gauge.  NORRISTOWN, Pa. - Environmental officials in Pennsylvania say a portable nuclear gauge that contains sealed sources of radioactive material is missing from a vehicle that was stolen in Philadelphia.The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) on Friday said the device should not be handled directly and anyone who finds it should maintain distance and limit their time around the device. The device was inside a vehicle when it was stolen in Philadelphia, officials said. The vehicle was later recovered, but the gauge was missing and officials believe that it may have been discarded.Officials said the missing nuclear gauge belongs to a construction inspection and testing company in Montgomery County.

The FBI has joined Massachusetts law enforcement agencies in investigating the theft of Boston Police Department uniforms, which were stolen from a Weymouth business, just weeks before the city’s annual marathon is set to kick off. Friday marked nine years since the Boston Marathon Bombing of 2013, when three people were killed and more than 260 were hurt. Ahead of Monday’s 126th Boston Marathon, Boston Police Superintendent-In-Chief Greg Long is urging attendees not to hesitate to report someone acting suspicious, even if they are dressed in a uniform.The Weymouth Police Department announced earlier this week that it was working with the FBI in investigating the theft of several Boston Police Department uniforms that were stolen from a local uniform supply store. Investigators believe the uniforms were stolen between 3:30 p.m.

COLUMBIA, S.C. - A South Carolina prisoner scheduled to be the first man executed in the state in more than a decade has decided to die by firing squad rather than in the electric chair later this month, according to court documents filed Friday.Richard Bernard Moore, 57, is also the first state prisoner to face the choice of execution methods after a law went into effect last year making electrocution the default and giving inmates the option to face three prison workers with rifles instead.Moore has spent more than two decades on death row after being convicted of the 1999 killing of convenience store clerk James Mahoney in Spartanburg. If executed as scheduled on April 29, he would be the first person put to death in the state since 2011 and the fourth in the country to die by firing squad in nearly half a century.The new law was prompted by the decade-long break, which corrections officials attribute to an inability to procure the drugs needed to carry out lethal injections.In a written statement, Moore said he didn’t concede that either method was legal or constitutional, but that he more strongly opposed death by electrocution and only chose the firing squad because he was required to make a choice."I believe this election is forcing me to choose between two unconstitutional methods of execution, and I do not intend to waive any challenges to electrocution or firing squad by making an election," Moore said in the statement.Moore’s attorneys have asked the state Supreme Court to delay his death while another court determines if either available method is cruel and unusual punishment.

FORT MYERS BEACH, Fla. - Law enforcement officials are looking for information after a dolphin was found dead in Florida after being impaled in the head. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) said the dead dolphin was found on Fort Myers Beach on March 24 and recovered by the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). NOAA's law enforcement office said a necropsy on the dolphin revealed it was impaled in the head by a spear-like object while still alive. The dolphin was a lactating female, and it appeared to have died from trauma, which happened at or around its time of death, according to NOAA.READ: Dolphin dies after reportedly being harassed by Texas beachgoersLaw enforcement officials said they suspect the dolphin was impaled while in a "begging position." James who they believe is the renter of the U-Haul van.

PHILADELPHIA - It’s not uncommon to hear about cash thefts at gas stations, but one gas station owner says they are dealing with candy thieves—and it’s getting out of control.Early Tuesday morning, just before 3:45 AM, surveillance cameras at PnP Gas on East Hunting Park Avenue say their surveillance cameras captured two people loading up bags of their candy.The store owner says when the pair tried to leave without paying for it, and realized an employee locked them in, they broke the door to escape."It’s very, very frustrating," store manager James Gill said.Philadelphia police are investigating a series of candy thefts at gas stations. Rafiq Thompson, 38, of Philadelphia is wanted in connection to the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old woman in Upper Merion.  UPPER MERION TOWNSHIP, Pa. - A $5,000 reward is being offered for information that leads to the arrest of the suspect accused of fatally shooting a woman in Upper Merion on Friday night. According to authorities, the shooting took place at an Exxon gas station before 11 p.m. on North Gulph Road and West Dekalb Pike. Police say officers arrived on scene and found the victim, who was later identified as 31-year-old Tamara Cornelius, lying in the gas station parking lot with multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported to Paoli Hospital, where she was pronounced dead at 11:09 p.m., according to authorities. Officials say the investigation revealed that Cornelius and the suspect, 38-year-old Rafiq Thompson, were in a prior relationship and had met up briefly before she went to have dinner at The Cheesecake Factory. According to investigators, Thompson followed Cornelius as she left the restaurant at 10:15 p.m., walked to the parking garage and then drove to the Exxon gas station. Police say as she was pumping gas, Thompson got out of the car, spoke to her and shot her. He continued to shoot her as she tried to get away, authorities say. The Montgomery County District Attorney announced Monday that an additional homicide charge after an autopsy revealed Cornelius was pregnant at the time of her death. "This was a chilling murder of a young woman and her unborn child," District Attorney Kevin R.

(FOX 2) - A federal jury in Grand Rapids, Michigan, has found two suspects in the plot to kidnap Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer not guilty and a mistrial has been declared for the other two suspects after the jury could not reach a verdict.The jury reached the verdict around 2 p.m. on Friday for Daniel Harris and Brandon Caserta of not guilty on all charges.
