Daily Mirror reader Ken Benbow, 94, had been sleeping with a treasured photograph of his beloved wife Ada, after she died last August.
And devoted carer Kia Tobin, 17, was worried the D Day veteran would be hurt if the glass in the metal picture frame shattered.
So she hatched a plan to give him a safer memento to hold close to his chest. And last week, as Ken enjoyed a stroll in the sunshine, she popped into his room and took a photo of Ada’s portrait on her phone.
