The Queen and Prince Philip have received the coronavirus vaccination. Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and the Duke of Edinburgh, who recently spent a "quiet" Christmas, had the jab at Windsor Castle today on 9 January as they are both in the high risk category being over the age of 80.
Buckingham Palace confirmed the news as a spokesperson said: "The Queen and the Duke of Edinburgh have today received Covid-19 vaccinations." While it's unusual for the Palace to have commented on private health matters, the source explained that it was made public "to prevent inaccuracies and further speculation".
They added: "Her Majesty decided that she would let it be known she has had the vaccination.” ITV news royal editor Chris Ship broke the news on.
