Tom Hanks has shared a big ol’ bag of his plasma to remind us all just how much of a legend he is, as the actor donated his fluids to help create a coronavirus vaccine.

The Castaway star – who contracted Covid-19 along with wife Rita Wilson while in Australia working – has put his veins on the line and donated blood and plasma (the liquid part of the blood), after being told he may carry coronavirus antibodies. Read the latest updates: Coronavirus news live.

Tom and Rita, both 63, have since made a full recovery and revealed they’d be making the donation, with Tom sharing images from the Californian hospital where he made the potentially life-saving offering.
