Hollywood titan Tom Hanks is one of a number of celebrities to pay tribute to Adam Schlesinger, the Fountains of Wayne star who died of coronavirus at 52.

Adam, who tested positive for COVID-19 weeks ago, provided backing vocals for and co-wrote Fountains of Wayne's biggest hit, Stacy's Mom.

Tom, who himself has had coronavirus, worked with bass player Adam in 1996 on the film That Thing You Do! - Adam penned the film's title track of the same name.

The Forrest Gump actor named Adam as one of the reasons his telly and film production company Playtone was able to get off the ground.
