Tory MP Bob Seely apologises for attending lockdown busting barbecue

A Conservative MP has apologised and admitted he "called it wrong" after attending a barbecue during lockdown. Isle of Wight MP Bob Seely says HE went to the evening gathering at a garden in the village of Seaview.

The gathering was hosted by Freddy Gray, the deputy editor of political magazine The Spectator. Brexit Party chairman Richard Tice and his partner, journalist Isabel Oakeshott were also there, it has been reported.

Ms Oakeshott is a cousin of Lord Oakeshott of the island's Seagrove Bay. Mr Seely said he had food at the gathering, which he insisted was not a party - but said he did not drink alcohol and didn't stay long.
