Coronavirus cases in the UK have surged by 12,782, breaking the country’s previous 24 hour record, latest Department of Health Figures show.The Department of Health confirmed cases skyrocket by 12,872 in the last 24 hours, nearly doubling the previous 24 hour record.Included in the figure are cases going back to September 24, which had been withheld due to a technical issue on the official website tracking cases and deaths.Deaths in all settings have increased by 49, bringing the UK’s coronavirus death toll to 42,317.The UK’s previous daily case record was 7,143, which was also recorded during the anticipated Covid-19 second wave.The Department of Health usually releases figures daily on its website at 4pm, but statistics were not made.
