Brandi Carlile covered John Prine’s “Hello in There” as a tribute to the late singer-songwriter on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert Wednesday night (April 8).
Stephen Colbert introduced the segment with his own touching stories about learning to play Prine’s songs on guitar and eventually meeting Prine and singing with him too.

Prine had also been the recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammys earlier this year, where Bonnie Raitt celebrated his song “Angel From Montgomery.” Read Pitchfork’s
