Wigan Warriors’ Super League game with Huddersfield this Friday has been postponed due to a number of positive Covid-19 cases at the Giants.
The Warriors were due to travel to West Yorkshire this weekend in what would have been Huddersfield’s first home game with supporters present since the pandemic began.
However, with a rising number of positive tests at Huddersfield following Monday’s round of testing, the game has been called off.
It is the first time in 2021 that a Super League game has fallen victim to Covid. Numerous games across the competition last summer were cancelled, leading to the decision to decide the table based on win percentage, rather than points.
