A man was fined £10,000 (around €11,000) after police allegedly found 80 guests at a wedding party in England where current regulations limit such gatherings to a max of 15 people.
Police said officers received reports of a large gathering at a marriage venue - described online as "magical and enchanting" - in a village in Essex at around 4.15pm yesterday.
When officers arrived, they allegedly found around 80 guests enjoying a sit-down dinner. Police spoke to guests and explained that the wedding was in breach of Covid-19 restrictions.
The attendees were told they must leave or they would be issued with a fixed penalty notice, and each guest complied and left the venue.
