The number of people fined by police for breaking lockdown rules in Dumfries and Galloway has risen to 29.Police Scotland issued 1637 fixed penalty notices and made 78 arrests across the country March 27 and April 23.In Dumfries and Galloway 70 people were dispersed after being informed by the police they were breaking the rules.
There were 28 incidents of people being instructed to go home.In addition to the 29 fines handed out, four people were returned home with force and four were arrested.Chief Superintendent Linda Jones said: “The overwhelming majority of people have accepted our advice and only as a last resort have we had to use enforcement powers where people continue to defy the very clear instructions.“I know that it might be
