396 new cases of Covid-19, 241 in Dublin

The Department of Health has reported 396 additional cases of Covid-19 and no further deaths. The death toll in Ireland remains at 1,792.

Of the new cases today, 241 are in Dublin. 172 are men and 224 are women, and 70% of them are under the age of 45. 36 of today's cases are in Cork, 19 in Donegal, 12 in Galway, 11 each in Meath and Kildare, and nine in Monaghan.

Seven cases were reported in Louth, six in Clare, six each in Offaly and Waterford, five in Wicklow, and the remaining 27 cases are spread across 11 counties.

Acting Chief Medical Officer Dr Ronan Glynn said: "The cases we are reporting today were seeded in the last week. "This virus spreads from person to person.
