₹400 crore to PM-CARES Fund for covid-19 relief

MUMBAI : The Aditya Birla Group, led by billionaire Kumar Mangalam Birla, on Friday said it has donates ₹400 crore to Prime Minister's Citizen Assistance and Relief in Emergency Situations (PM CARES) Fund, along with an additional sum of ₹100 crore towards its own corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative and for supply of N95 masks, personal protective equipments (PPEs) and ventilators. “Given the severity of the disruption, there is a compelling need for a multi-pronged response that includes financial and material support, healthcare assistance and community responsibility," said Rajashree Birla, chairperson of Aditya Birla Centre for Community Initiatives and Rural Development, in a press release.
