An Illinois man suspected of burying the bodies of his mother and sister in his backyard has been arrested on felony charges, officials announced Thursday.Michael Lelko, 45, is facing two felony counts of concealment of a death, reports The Associated Press.According to Lyons police Chief Thomas Herion, Michael is not charged in the deaths of his mom, 79-year-old Jean Lelko, and 44-year-old Jennifer Lelko, as the medical examiner can’t pinpoint an exact cause of death for either woman. RIPON, Calif. - Two women who were reported missing over the weekend were found dead Tuesday inside a car submerged in the Stanislaus River.The two women, Alyssa Ros, 23, of Long Beach and Xylona Gama, 22, of Stockton, were last seen at a wedding Sunday night at Spring Creek Country Club. According to the Ripon Police Department, a country club employee noticed a car submerged in the river, near the southeastern part of the golf course. Law enforcement quickly matched the vehicle to that of the missing person’s report and identified the two women. It is unknown how the women ended up in the river; police say at this time there is no evidence of criminal activity or foul play.Ripon police are working with the medical examiner to determine the exact cause of death. The investigation is ongoing.

PHILADELPHIA - Authorities say a man was injured in a broad daylight shooting Friday afternoon outside the Pennsylvania Convention Center. Officer were called to the area of 12th and Vine streets around 5 p.m for reports of a shooting. Philadelphia Police Captain John Walker told reporters that officers found a blood trail for several blocks that lead them to a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the arm. The victim was taken to Jefferson University Hospital in stable condition, according to police. Walker said investigators believe the shooting happened during an argument between two men. The shooter, a Black man wearing all black clothes and a white "item" on his head, then walked to 13th Street where investigators lost sight of him.Walker told reporters that there were people around during the shooting happened.

TRENTON, N.J. - A detention hearing is scheduled for Thursday morning in the shooting death of a nine-year-old girl in Trenton.The hearing will determine whether or not Isiah Roberts, 19, will be held without bail after he was charged with murder and related charges in the death of SeQuoya Bacon-Jones. Authorities say Bacon-Jones and her brother were playing in the courtyard in Kingsbury Square on March 25 when two women began fighting nearby over a social media post. As the fight began, police say Roberts became involved in an altercation with another man nearby.
