Boris Johnson has today begun drawing up a plan to ease England out of lockdown. The third national shutdown is due to end “cautiously” from March 8 with the reopening of schools.
Outdoor ‘recreation’ is also expected to be allowed at a similar time for two people from different households. Grandparents could in these circumstances see their grandkids in the park - or people could have single-household, self-contained mini-breaks.
After that non-essential shops will reopen - followed lastly by pubs, restaurants and cafes. But pubs could open any time between April and August as the Prime Minister balances scientific advice with mounting pressure from his own MPs.
