65-year-old Covid-19 patient leaves hospital after two weeks

A 65-year-old man has returned home to Buncrana in Co Donegal after spending two weeks in hospital with Covid-19. Donal Bradley spent one of those weeks on a ventilator in the Intensive Care Unit of Galway Universtity Hospital, but he was allowed to go home on Friday morning.

His daughter Julie said he is very weak and tired, but he is glad to be home in his own bed. She told RTÉ's Morning Ireland that his recovery has given the town a much needed boost. "It's a close community.

We turned the corner into where we live and everybody was standing there with banners, he got a great welcome. It was a great boost and it gave everyone in the town a boost as well".
