Airdrieonians legend Jimmy Boyle is in the running to become the new manager of Monklands rivals Albion Rovers, Lanarkshire Live Sport understands.The 53-year-old, who took charge of the Diamonds between 2010-2013, is keen to return to first team management after almost seven years and is one of the candidates being considered to replace Kevin Harper at Cliftonhill.Harper quit earlier this month after knocking back a new contract on reduced terms.And it's understood Boyle, who left Airdrieonians in October 2013 and hasn't managed a team since, would be thrilled to make his return to the dugout in Coatbridge.Boyle was appointed Head of Youth Development at Dundee in 2016 after a stint with the Scottish Football Association's licensing setup
