Apollo Hospitals Enterprise Ltd’s share price has seen sharp gains recently, a reflection of the progressive unlocking of the economy.
The expansion undertaken by the firm over the past few years will now yield results, investors believe. The company had achieved a hospital bed capacity of more than 10,000 beds(including managed hospitals and daycare facilities). The benefits from these were impacted due to the lockdown during April-May.
The lockdown led disruption meant postponement of elective surgeries by patients, suspended outpatient services, and others.
Now with normalisation, the firm is expected to report good growth. The metrics are already showing improvement. The hospital bed occupancy had improved to 56 % in the September quarter.
