Shoppers have been forced to evacuate a B&Q after a worker tested positive for coronavirus. The store, in Wallasey, was forced shut this afternoon.

A spokesperson said it will now undergo a deep clean. They said: "We can confirm that our Wallasey store is temporarily closed following a team member receiving a positive (Covid 19) test result. "Closing the store for deep cleaning is a precautionary measure and goes beyond government advice." No other B&Q stores have been affected, reports Liverpool Echo.

The store will be closed for the rest of the day but will re-open tomorrow morning. B&Q reopened stores last month with long queues often forming outside as homeowners stock up on DIY products.
