Baby twins both born with coronavirus after mum tests positive days before birth

They are thought to be the first twins in the UK born with Covid-19. But they are now fit, well - and back home with their overjoyed parents.

Kenna and Lissa Curtis weighed just 3lbs each when they were born ten weeks early on July 3. Doctors confirmed the worst fears of anxious mum Sarah, 32, and husband Aaron, 33 after she tested positive for coronavirus just days before the birth.

Sarah had not shown any symptoms but felt “scared” as she feared putting the unborn girls at risk. But despite both being born with the killer virus, which was transferred to them via the placenta, the little fighters made a remarkable recovery.
