Thibaut Courtois claims it would be unfair to hand Barcelona the La Liga title this season because his Real Madrid side have been the better team throughout.

The Catalans are two points ahead of their bitter rivals at the top of the Spanish league with 11 games remaining but there has been no indication yet whether the campaign will be completed in full.

All football was postponed in early March amid the rise of the coronavirus pandemic and the season could be deemed null and void if there are no signs of a relief.

While the leagues in Spain, England, Italy and Germany are exploring ways to start playing again, Belgium, Holland and France have all decided not to conclude their season.
