A grandmother who spent more than 40 years working in palliative care has become the first Marie Curie nurse to die after contracting coronavirus.
Barbara Sage, from Bromley in south London, has been described as "a beautiful person" who had "an absolute passion" for her work.
The 68-year-old died in intensive care last Sunday. She was a Marie Curie nurse for 14 years, providing vital care and support on the front line to dying patients in the community.
