'Loving and kind' Manchester Royal Infirmary doctor and dad-of-six dies after contracting coronavirus

Tributes have been paid to a 'loving and kind' Manchester Royal Infirmary doctor and a dad-of-six who has died having contracted coronavirus.

Dr Furqan Ali Siddiqui fell ill around four weeks ago. He was fighting for life on a ventilator in intensive care. He was father to six children - who live in Pakistan - with his wife Dr Fazia Siddiqui, who works as a doctor at a medical college in the city of Karachi.

Dr Siddiqui's colleagues said he moved to Manchester recently and was coming to the end of his training. The 50-year-old was a plastic surgeon and had started working on the frontline treating patients with coronavirus.
