Sir Billy Connolly has received the first dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, his wife has confirmed. The 78-year-old comedian, who is living with Parkinson's, received his first jab on Thursday at a medical facility in Florida.

Billy's wife Pamela Stephenson took to social media to express her relief that her husband had finally been able to receive his first inoculation, out of two jabs required.

In the snap, which Pamela shared with her 57,000 Twitter followers, Billy was pictured sitting in the medical facility with a white N95 face mask on.

The iconic Scottish star donned a pair of round glasses, black t-shirt and had his long locks tied back as he sat for the picture following his jab.
