Donald Trump suggested coronavirus could be treated with ultraviolet rays or 'disinfectant injections' before falling sick the virus himself.

The US President prompted alarm when he touted bizarre methods to fight the virus with no basis in medical research. And at least one person died drinking fish tank cleaner mistaken for hydroxychloroquine, after the leader recommended the anti-malarial as a preventive drug without scientific basis.

The president made the comments about disinfectant in a bizarre press briefing in April. Now he and First Lady Melania Trump have tested positive for the virus themselves, just weeks out from the presidential elections.
