A man who tried to camp on an island at Walt Disney World in Florida in a bid to survive the coronavirus quarantine is now facing tresspassing charges.

The Orange County Sheriff's Office said deputies were called to the world-famous theme park in Orlando on Thursday after 42-year-old Richard McGuire was spotted on the abandoned Discovery Island.

Police searched for him on foot, by helicopter, and by boat before finally making contact with him, according to an arrest report.

It's claimed that once deputies made contact using a loudspeaker, McGuire told them he didn’t hear them because he was sleeping inside one of the buildings on the island, which he referred to as a “tropical paradise.” McGuire claimed he was unaware the property was off
